Weight Loss

Weight loss training is a form of medium intensity exercise training focused on combination exercises that use as many muscle groups as possible. Exercises are performed for a longer period of time, with minimal rest in between each one. This ensures participants heart rates remain fast paced throughout the session, burning excess calories which results in weight loss.

The aim is to have large muscle groups constantly working in order to keep the heart rate up and muscle energy demands high.

Weight loss is not the only benefit associated with this form of training, as there are also a number of advantages to a persons’ health that comes with weight loss, this includes:

• A decreased risk of cardiovascular disease
• Decreased load on joints
• Increased energy levels
• Improvements in self confidence and self image

Excess weight and a sedentary lifestyle are both modifiable risk factors associated with cardiovascular disease and Type 2 Diabetes; that if left unchanged can lead to a heart attack or stroke. Losing weight and increasing your fitness levels lowers this risk dramatically. Best of all it’s never too late to begin exercising, no matter your age or fitness levels each session can be modified to suit the individual.
