Core Strength

Core training is a fundamental element in any ones exercise program, from weight loss to strength training.  The intention is to be able to control the bodies centre (being your core) as our ‘core’ is our base for support.  In nearly every exercise or movement we are activating our core muscles and it is under constant pressure.  It is common for individuals to have weak cores, resulting in the development of chronic postural problems – possibly leading to damaged intervertebral discs.  Not only is overall core strength important but the coordination of these muscles is of just importance.

This program will aim to place your body in an ‘unbalanced’ position in order for your core muscles to strengthen but also to increase the coordination needed for your core to function effectively.

The benefits of core training include;

• Reduced back pain.
• Strengthen our bodies ‘working foundation’ for support.
• Provides essential joint stability.
• Better posture.
• Assists performance in other forms of exercises.

In maintaining this foundation there is a lower risk of developing lower back pain along with other injuries.  Core training can be implemented in any health and fitness program. Regardless of age or fitness developing a strong foundation to build upon is essential.
